Many women have their reasons for why they choose to have a boudoir photography photo shoot. For Lesley of Austin, Texas, her reason boils down to because she can.
Age is Nothing But a Number
I met Lesley when I initially moved to Texas. I was looking to connect with artists in my age group and, at the time, she was looking to expand beyond her work as a voice actress. She took to modeling in her 40s because, according to her, “why not?” In the process she has put together a portfolio that demonstrates just how much beauty is a state a mind.
It is confidence in oneself.
I’ve known Lesley for a few years, and she is like any other woman – she has a family that depends on her. She has a home she maintains and manages. She deals with unexpected challenges that may come up in her day. Like most women she makes it all look so easy when in fact there are days when it is not.
In addition to the self-affirmation, there’s also the self care that comes about when having the focus directed solely on you. For the woman who has to keep track of every little matter in the lives of her family a boudoir photo shoot offers the perfect getaway.
For Lesley’s getaway, I reserved time at Sekrit Theater in Austin. We began our photo shoot within the greenhouse.
Afterwards, we moved the session to the abandoned bus that’s setup at Sekrit Theater for photo shoots just like ours.
By this point, Lesley didn’t care the real feel temperature inside the bus was over 100 degrees. She enjoyed the focus being on her and was having fun.
I wanted to make use of the magnificent sunset that was beginning to cast everything outside the bus in golden light. We moved back to the greenhouse where I took the best photographs of the session and ended the photo shoot.
Austin Boudoir Photography
Ours was a creative collaboration meant to produce photographs we can show to our prospective clients. Lesley continues her work as a model and I continue working with clients who value discretion and privacy. It is why I continue to trade my time with models who want to inspire women, like you, to declare “why not? I am brilliant and magnificent just the way I am.”
